In Bulgaria there are more than 400 species of birds for you to admire. During our guided tour you have the chance to spot a great variety of birdlife along the Black Sea Coast wetlands, Russenski Lom National Park and the Srebarna Nature Reserve. You can see Dalmatian pelicans, 11 species of ducks, black-winged stilts, ibises, spoonbills and swans in their natural and protected habitat.

Day-to-day-program


Day 1
Birdwatching with Rainbow TravelsYour English speaking travel guide meets you at Varna Airport and brings you to Sveti Konstantin. That is a small seaside resort lying only 200m from the beach. A free welcome drink and dinner await you. Overnight in Sveti Konstantin.
Day 2
birding toursToday we head for the Kaliakra Nature Reserve which boasts more than 300 species of birds. From the wetlands of Kaliakra Cape, with good luck, you can spot some increasingly rare dolphins and seals.
We continue our trip to Srebarna Nature Reserve. Dinner and overnight in the village of Srebarna.
Day 3
birdwatching SrebarnaEarly in the morning, with the help of a professional bird-watching guide, we embark on our first expedition in the Srebarna Nature Reserve - a World Heritage site of UNESCO since 1983. The Srebarna Lake is home to over 170 species of water birds, including endangered cormorants, Dalmatian pelicans, grey and white herons, red-breasted ducks and swans.

Day 4
birding with Rainbow TravelsToday we go birding around Lake Srebarna and at the end of the day we leave for Russe.

Day 5
birdlife up closeYou visit Russenski Lom National Park where you can admire the birdlife up close. Being one of the best places in Bulgaria for bird-watching, the park protects about 170 species of water birds, as well as endangered Egyptian vultures, great eagle owls, 67 species of mammals and 23 types of bats. For a change, you can also check out the unique rock monasteries and city ruins built by the Thracians and the Romans in days long gone by.
Dinner at a traditional Bulgarian restaurant well washed down with some excellent local wine. Overnight in Russe.
Day 6
Another day for you to explore the flora and fauna of the park. Late in the afternoon we leave for Sveti Konstantin where we have our farewell dinner. Overnight in Sveti Konstantin.
Day 7
Departure.
